Once again we are delighted to announce that Cellmark achieved a perfect score in the FAPAS annual Great Crested Newt (GCN) eDNA proficiency testing scheme and reported a correct result for all of the ‘blind’ test samples.
Proficiency testing provides an independent assessment of a laboratory’s competence and, together with a range of quality control procedures, is an essential component of Cellmark’s quality assurance programme. Cellmark’s operates a Quality Management System that is certified to ISO9001 and our GCN eDNA analysis service conforms to Natural England’s approved protocol (WC1067), which ensures that our results can be used to support GCN license applications. Indeed, Cellmark has now been appointed as the sole contracted testing laboratory for Natural England’s District Level Licensing scheme for the next three years 2021 – 2023.
